Dave Keiter, President/owner of Yellow Van Cleaning made the donation to the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department as part of October’s Fire Prevention Month. Mr. Keiter stated, “I feel it is important to assist families who may have a need for a smoke detector. It is a small way to give back to Kearney with a very important tool that can save a life. We want families and college students that may not have access to a new smoke detector to get one.” Experts say that if your smoke detectors are over 10 years old, they probably need to be replaced.
Smoke detectors will be available at Fire Station 1 – 2211 Avenue A Kearney, NE – from 8 AM – 5 PM Monday through Friday, starting September 26, while supplies last. Fire department personnel will not be responsible for installing any smoke detectors. Yellow Van is a cleaning and restoration company with locations in Kearney and Grand Island and has 45 employees trained in remediation and cleaning services.
